EA Sports makes a whole lot of games: the Madden series, the FIFA series and ehhhhhhh.......I assume other pretty good titles. There is no game hype quite like the one FIFA titles receive every year. Being the savage I am, I have scrutinized every piece of information that has officially been released from EA Sports. And I do mean everything; there were days I was researching the artists who feature in the soundtrack to check if they leaked anything.............I probably should have just stuck to the trailers and E3. Our goal; to spoil the game for ourselves and literally know everything that would probably be way more enjoyable to experience like normal people.
I have calmed the crazy down (at least for a while) and compiled a list of what I feel will be the biggest new features and improved sections.
1. Goal kicks Finally, goal kicks make some sort of sense. Previous FIFA installments saw the goalie roll the dice every time he/she attempted to pass or lob the ball to a teammate from their goal mouth. Not to mention that the camera would give away the direction of short passes from the goalie to defenders. The new goalie camera angle and improved goal kick distribution has rectified this previous gamble problem, making game-play more balanced. If only FIFA could copy PES more often.
2. Timed shots Finesse for most players was the pinnacle of shots. You can practically hear the "Pffffeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" as you picture the ball curve into the net. FIFA 19 has taken it a step further with timed shots. By tapping the shot button just as the footballer kicks the ball will result in a shot that is near impossible to save, making for some great long range shots. The downside: failing to time the shot will cause the ball to skew dangerously away from the goal. Honestly most of us will probably not even properly grasp this feature until the next FIFA is just a month away.
3. House rules, 5 vs 5 and Survival mode House rules - basically the idea is that you set certain condition for a match ie: no fouls, no offside, one team has a two goal advantage before kick-off, only headers count as goals etc. Y'all gonna avoid this......no doubt 5 vs 5 - this is like the return of FIFA street without the parts you would like to see return. It's probably going to annoy to you when you accidentally select it Survival mode - you score and you lose a player.........................maybe you play it once or twice to try.....then you remember you FIFA is meant to be a realistic portrayal of football and this murder thing that's happening is more suited to Call of Duty.
4. UEFA Champions League This will be the first installment in over a decade to have UEFA Champions League licensing. This means we can use the cool blue soccer ball used for the 2017/2018 Champions League season. There's the UEFA pre-match opening......that y'all will defienately skip. The obvious tournament modes which is something that will actually be utilized. If there wasn't UEFA Kick-Off mode, I'm so sure many of you wouldn't realize that UEFA was now a part of FIFA........................I'm sure that most of you reading this are actually realizing that UEFA wasn't in FIFA before.
FIFA 19 looks great. The hype is good and so far the demo game-play has not disappointed. The new footballer ratings and squad updates are a big drawing point. The Kick-Off mode will obviously be the most played and Juventus will have new found fans. Expect to hear phrases like "fifa 18 was better" or "handisati ndaadjusta kuFifa 19" This is what I felt about the FIFA 19 new features. This is my opinion which means that what I say is completely true and there is no need to check up on whatever I have said.
